Julie is the owner and founder of Cedarfield agility, first offering classes there in 1999. Julie has been teaching dog training since 1986 and agility since 1992. She has worked with many top agility trainers in seminars and in classes with her own dogs and has taught agility classes and seminars for Paws4Ever (APS of Orange County), Bon-Clyde Learning Center (Sanford, NC), Pet Behavior Help (Chapel Hill, NC), and Sunny Acres (Durham, NC). Her specialty is teaching all aspects of agility from the fundamentals to competition at the highest levels. She also teaches Tracking classes, a fun sport where the dog follows a scent through a field to find an article such as glove or a wallet. Julie is currently competing in agility with her 6 year old Parson Russell Terrier, Devon. Devon is competing at the Excellent level in AKC and at the Masters level in USDAA. Julie also has a retired agility dog named Jaime, a Border Collie, who acheived the highest title possible in USDAA (Agility Dog Champion) before retiring two years ago. Both Jaime and Devon are sometimes handled by Julie's students to help the students learn the ropes from two seasoned professionals. Julie also has a Doberman named Zodiac who has just started competing in agility. For more information about Julie, check out her blog at www.cedarfield.livejournal.com .
